We caught up with Kinetic Control Movement Therapist and Kinetic Control Accredited Tutor Padmanaban Sekaran!
How would you describe your personality?
Conscientious, value driven and open to new ideas.
How did you become involved with Kinetic Control?
I was inspired by the Kinetic Control concepts while studying for my Masters at Keele University, 2011. I took ‘Motor Control Approach in Musculoskeletal Pain’ as my thesis, allowing me to secure an overall distinction in Masters. I was subsequently invited by Sarah to be part of the team and I have been teaching ever since.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Kinetic Control team?
It’s great to be part of an international network of tutors who are very accomplished and high achievers in their profession within their respective countries. I feel a sense of pride to be associated with an education platform that always strives to be ‘future relevant’. Also, it’s great to be doing pioneering work in India in establishing the ‘Movement Health’ culture in clinical practice.
What have you enjoyed most about Kinetic Control? Do you have any key highlights that really stand out during your Kinetic Control journey?
The delegates that attend a Kinetic Control workshop are inherently different, in the sense that they are all experienced clinicians with established clinical mileage. I feel Kinetic Control has the ability to help them identify what is missing in their practice and how the Kinetic Control process can improve patient outcomes; it is both challenging and rewarding, especially when they come back with their success stories in the clinic. Being invited as a speaker for the Movement Conference 2018 held at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton Football Club was a key highlight for me.
Padmanaban will be teaching the Neck & Shoulder Coordinaton & Synergies module in Kuwait on the 27th - 30th September 2019.
